Wayne Henggeler

Wayne was born at a very early age in Oceanside, New York. His mom will tell you, "He came out of the womb singing." He's always loved to sing and did so most anywhere at anytime.

Wayne began his formal music training at the age of 9, when he began playing trombone. As the years went by, he also played tuba, guitar, piano, clarinet, bass guitar, and the stereo (really loud). He assembled his first rock band at the age of 15, and was lead singer of The Long Island Sound. Through high school, college and beyond he kept his hand in music and singing working with such acts as The Switch Blades, The Lake Shore 4 and Off the Record.

Throughout his career, Wayne has performed on stage with The Lettermen, Dianne Carrol and The Michael Martin Murphy Band. In the 90s Wayne toured with his daughter, singing at dinner clubs throughout the West, from Kansas City, to Amarillo, Corpus Christie, to Billings, Seattle, and making a special appearance on the Queen Mary in Los Angeles. Wayne is proud to have earned recognition as "Educator of the Year," which is offered by the Colorado Private School Association and Channel 7, and was awarded to him by Mayor Wellington Webb.

Deciding to combine his two passions, Wayne received his vocal coaching certification in 1995 and began teaching voice, and has taught literally hundreds of students. He says the best part of teaching voice is seeing the progress that students make in a relatively short time. Wayne truly believes that . . .
